Pack-a-Snack® is an easy-to-implement, incentive-based program that helps young people discover healthy diet habits and choose healthy snacks. Snack time is a common childhood staple in elementary classrooms. It can be an opportunity for a much-needed brain boost. Or it can turn out to be a blast of processed sugars, disruptive to any classroom. The Pack-a-Snack™ Classroom Kit contains everything needed to encourage students to bring healthy snacks to school, which can lead to healthy diet habits.

1. Step-by-Step Instructions, Recording Sheet, & Reproducible Parent Letter (with a Healthy Snacks List) to send home with students to get parents on board with the program.
2. Incredible Edible Snacks™ Poster (18”x 25”) which creatively presents more than 120 healthy snacks divided into the USDA’s 5 food groups.
3. Wise Size Poster (18”x 25”) that teaches kids how to determine proper portion sizes using their own body parts – hands, feet, fists, etc. - as a reference guide.
4. 25 Snack Cards (3”x 5”) so kids can keep track of their healthy snacks. Each time a student brings in a healthy snack, you mark their Snack Card. (Try to match the food group to the appropriate picture, if possible.) For every 4 marks the student receives, they earn a Nutrition Award.
5. 125 Nutrition Awards – 25 each of Multigrain Bread, Broccoli, Grapes, Fish, Cheese or Milk.
6. 25 MyPlate® Good Eating Cards are laminated, business-sized cards with MyPlate® information that kids can take with them anywhere.
